He is the Programme Leader of Materials Science Group. He has played a key role in setting up of materials science beamline and many in-situ/on-line facilities including in-situ STM, on-line ERDA and in-situ XRD facilities.

His areas of research are:

1. Ion beam induced modification of carbon based 2-D materials and nanostructures
2. Ion beam induced modification of surfaces and interfaces.
3. Synthesis and characterization of nanostructures.

He is incharge of

1. Target Development lab
2. TEM and TEM sample preparation Lab.

His areas of interest are

1. Ion beam interaction with Semiconductors
2. Ion beam interaction with materials in nano-scale.
3. Thin film growth and characterization.
4. Transmission Electron Microscope.

He is incharge of Structure and Spectroscopy lab. He is involved in the development and utility of the facilities of spectroscopic and structural characterizations like PL, IL, UV-Visible, micro-Raman, FTIR and X-ray diffraction (XRD). His research interests are in the ionmatter interactions, synthesis and tailoring of nanocomposites, organic-inorganic hybrids, wide band gap semiconducting materials and defects in insulators for optoelectronic/ Photovoltaic applications.

He is in-charge of Materials synthesis and microscopy laboratories and works in the fields of thin films, surfaces and nanotechnology. His research interests include growth of thin films using plasma based deposition techniques, modification of their structural, surface and optical properties using ion beams techniques, and tuning their properties for sensor applications.

He is incharge for SEM facility and his main areas of research interests are:

1. Electronic sputtering studies specially utilizing online-ERDA facility.
2. Simulation of Ion irradiation induced modifications in materials using Molecular Dynamics method.
3. Synthesis and modification of metal nanostructures by energetic particles and its atomistic simulations.

She is the in-charge of Scanning Probe Microscopy facility (which includes AFM, MFM, STM and C-AFM modes etc.), Contact angle measurement set-up, Optical Microscope and UV Vis. Spectrophotometer. She is in-charge of Materials Science beam line in BH-1. Her areas of research interest are:

1. Investigations of nanostructures/ nanopatterns formation on various materials and thin films and their applications.
2. Oxide-nanoparticles, especially, Iron-Oxide nanoparticles (NPs), for their uses in sensing and photo-voltaic applications.
3. Bio-sensors such as those for glucose and cholesterol detection using the composite films of various materials such as polymer+oxide NPs etc.

He is responsible for the following deposition and characterization techniques:

1. X-ray Diffractometer facility (The in-situ/low temperature/RT X-ray Diffractometer facility established in the particle accelerator beam line is a unique facility in the international scenario.)
2. High Temperature (upto 1000 K) Irradiation Facility.
3. RF Sputtering System.
4. E-Beam Evaporations / Thermal Evaporations.
5. High Temperature (upto 2000 K) Furnace.

His areas of research are:

1. Ion beam interactions and induced modifications at surfaces and interfaces in solids.
2. Thermoelectric materials for the renewable energy applications
3. Spintronics/Magnetism (Half Metallic System, Exchange Bias, Giant Magneto-resistive Multilayers, Magnetic Tunnel Junction).

He is responsible for the following characterization techniques:

1. Temperature dependent Resistivity, Dielectric measurements.
2. Seebeck effect.
3. Hall effect.
4. Semiconductor device characterization.
5. In-situ resistivity and I-V measurements.

His area of research are:

1. Thermoelectric materials.
2. Perovskite oxide materials.
3. Solid state electrolytes.

Ambuj Mishra is a Scientist at Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi. He accorded his bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) from CSJM University Kanpur in 2012 and his master's degree (M.Sc.) in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2014. He has been a DST-INSPIRE Fellow (JRF) at Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from July 2015 to August 2016. His research interests are in thin film deposition using thermal and electron beam evaporation; TEM specimen preparation and TEM characterization of semiconductor hetero-structures and nano-composites.

I have done PhD from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed University under MHRD). Before joining IUAC as RA, I have worked as Assistant Professor (Physics) at Chandigarh University.

My area of research interest is Nuclear Fuel Materials for Radioactive Waste Immobilization, which includes the synthesis and processing of glass, ceramics and glass-ceramics and their investigation for radiation resistance properties through the irradiation with low energy to high energy ion beams. My expertise is in ceramic processing, in-situ beamline measurements, XRD, SEM-EDS, Fullprof (Rietveld Refinement), Diamond (Structure Visualization).

I am working as Research Associate at IUAC. My research interests include Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, High Temperature Superconductivity, bulk or polycrystalline and Single Crystal Growth, Magneto-transport phenomena, topological materials, Magnetism and Magnetic Materials and find the key experimental results for developing the new concept in physics.

Dr. Vishnu Chauhan has obtained Ph.D. Physics from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi in 2021. Currently, He has been working as Research Associate in IUAC, New Delhi, India. His research activities are related to Materials Science and Nanotechnology including synthesis, characterizations and ion beam induced modifications of thin films. He has published over 16 research papers in International journals, 02 book chapters and more than 20 papers presented in International/National conferences. Dr. Chauhan has been awarded Young Scientist Award and got many Best Oral/Poster research paper awards. He has visited France and Italy for high research pursuits.

He is working as CSIR-Research Associate at Material Science Division, IUAC after completing his doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur in 2019. After that he joined as CSIR-RA on April 2019 at IUAC. He is working in the area of synthesis, characterization and modification of nanocomposite thin films by energetic ion beam for various applications. His research interest include the synthesis of novel metal nanoparticles in different oxide matrix, optical and structural properties of oxides, plasmonic and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) tuning.
